Genealogy
Pontac - the original home of the founder of the Labuschagne family in South Africa. The estate was named after the name of the count of Pontac from the family's place of origin, Bergerac in the southwest of France. The family did not originate from the region of Pontac itself.
Threshing wheat on my great-grandfather's farm outside Dullstroom in the 1930's. As far as I know the ox waggon depicted was bought by my grandfather when my great-grandfather retired. When it finally became worn out years later the stout planks were made into a beautiful treehouse for me.

I was raised with a strong sense of heritage and a living appreciation for the roots from which our tree has grown.
Genealy has been my hobby since I was 12 years old. The Labuschagne family can be traced back to approximately 1650 in the south-west of France. My first name has been the dominating name in one of my maternal family lines for over 500 years.
